Stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth, women, various organisations including political and religious leaders on Thursday converge on Okeonigbin, Isin local government area of Kwara State to offer prayer in honour of Senate President and political leader of the state, Dr Bukola Saraki over his recent exoneration by the Supreme Court over alleged false asset declaration..

This is coming just as a first class monarch in Kwara state has cautioned against the habit of frequent petitions against leaders and fellow politicians.

The Olusin of Isin, Oba Solomon Olugbnega Oloyede speaking at the gathering lamented the frequency of petitions against leaders in Kwara especially in from Kwara South and urged everyday to unite and support one another to collectively lift the local government.

The interdenominational prayer which also attracted party faithful of the Saraki dynasty featured Christian and Islamic prayers in recognition of God’s on the persecution of Saraki was actually ended by the apex court.

Speaking during the event, the chairman of Isin local government, Prince Oladipo Omole, the event was organised to thank God for exonerating Saraki at the end of the day to shame his enemies who had planned to humiliate him.

Omole said the political future of the state under the leadership of Saraki is very bright and called for continued support.

He used the opportunity to reel out some of the achievements which his administration had embarked upon to include proposed establishment of fruit market, scholarships for 100 Isin indigenes to College of Education and renovation of the council secretariat among other laudable projects despite the financial challenges across the country.

In his remark, the Kwara South Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Balogun called on the people of Isin to continue to support Saraki who God has used a source of pillar for the local government and the state.

Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President, Hon Afolabi Afolayan, while thanking God for the victory, told newsmen shortly after the event that the prayer became necessary in the light of the current political situation in the country and for God to continue to guide and protect, and elevate Saraki in his political career.

Others at the event included the Vice Chairman of the council, Princess Hasanat Adedoyin, Chief Imam of Isin, Ustaz Abdulfatai Bismilahi, Pastor Gbenga Atobatele of CAC among others.
