The chairman of the Kwara State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyiola Oyedepo has allegedly commenced moves to join the mainstream of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
According to online report last night, the embattled chair had reportedly opened discussion with some factional leaders of the APC and Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed to absorb and integrate them into the party.
Speculation has been rife that APC leaders in the state will soon defect from the party because of the present political situation in the country.
Oyedepo had said in one of his radio programmes that the party was considering three options as response to the present situation which include remaining in the party but with condition, defecting to the APC and exploiting another party should the two options failed.
But speaking with this medium last night on the issue, Oyedepo told National Pilot that it is the people that will decide their next line of action adding that he is still the chairman of the PDP.
According to him, how can I be the chairman of the PDP and APC at the same time, that is not possible? I am still the PDP chairman in the state and our people will decide out next move”, he added.
