A 2019 governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has said he is not desperate for power.
He stated this during the official declaration of his intention to contest the governorship election, in Ilorin, on Monday.
The former National Deputy Chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), said for him, the gubernatorial race is not a do-or-die affair.
Rather, Mustapha said he was poised to turn around  fortunes of the state for it to attain self-reliance and sufficiency  by concentrating on the areas where the state has comparative advantages.
He added that ‘fixing Kwara’ has always been his major pre-occupation, having identified the challenges stifling development of the state.
“Fixing a fifty-eight year old Kwara has been a major pre-occupation that has remained incontrovertible.
“It is against this background that we have critically and holistically assessed our situation with the belief that all hope is not lost, hence the need to let us collectively fix Kwara come 2019,” he stressed.
He said his agenda include in the areas of education, skill acquisition/entrepreneurship; health from basic to tertiary level, Infrastructure, civil servants welfarism, youth development and agricultural empowerment.
