Unilorin alumni donates N1m equipment to Faculty of Agriculture

The 1988 set of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin has presented items worth one million naira to the faculty on Saturday.
The old students, who graduated 30 years ago made the presentation today at the Faculty of Agric Lecture Hall Theatre, University of Ilorin permanent site.
The items presented are Generator, three sets of public address system, incubator, deep freezer, table and executive chair, visitor table, digital scale, PH meter, water acid tester, insect trapper, 600 microscope dlides, soil tester, and battery operated microscope.
Speaking during the presentation of the items, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem commended the 1988 set for remembering their alma mater with the incentives that are very critical to the development of education.
The Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research, Technology and Innovation, Professor Mikail Buhari urged other alumni of the University to take a cue from the set so as to collectively move the university forward.
Presenting the items to the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Gbadebo Olaoye, the President of the set, Dr Olajumoke Ojo said the gesture was to contribute their quota towards the development of their Alma mater.
Ojo who came from the USA for the programme said the fund used to purchase the items was contributed by all the members of the set.
She thanked successive managements of the University of Ilorin for their invaluable roles in making the University of Ilorin a dominant role in the country educational sector.
Receiving the items on behalf of the faculty, the Dean, Professor Gbadebo Olaoye thanked the 1988 set for the gesture and pledged that the items will be used judiciously.
