Unilorin: SUG President charges students on early arrival for exams

The Student Union President of the University of Ilorin, Animashaun Oluseyi has appealed to students of the institution to ensure early arrival at examination venues to avoid disqualification.
He said this in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Students Union, Isa Abbas Usman last Thursday following the disqualification of some students for one of their Computer Based Test (CBT) examinations.
Though the situation was efficiently handled by the Students Union Government (SUG), the President however maintained that the students must strive to comply with the rules and tenets of the institution to avoid future occurrence.
He said, โ€œOne of the regulations of the university guiding the conduct of examinations is punctuality and promptness. The school maintains that all students must be at their various examination venues latest 30 minutes before commencement and this must henceforth be strictly adhere to.
โ€œMembers of the new Student Union Central Executive Council were at the University’s (CBT) Centre today to attend promptly to the issue of students who were not allowed to gain entrance into the examination hall due to lateness.
โ€œJust like we promised to be of utmost concern to issues affecting the students, we did our best to plead on behalf of the concerned students and they were eventually pardoned. We however wish to encourage our fellow students to make sure that they abide by the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of examinations in the school one of which is punctuality.โ€
Animashaun however pledged that the SUG under his leadership will remain steadfast in their determination to invest in the affairs of students.
