In a bid to foster harmonious relationship with the labour unions, the newly appointed Special Adviser to Kwara State Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Bisi Fakayode has said he will prioritise workers’ welfare and foster cordial relationship between government and the workforce.
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed had last week approved the re-appointment of Comrade Fakayode as his aide on Labour Matters.
Speaking with our reporter shortly after assuming office, Fakayode said, “My priority is the stability as regards labour issues. In the course of doing that, one has to be fair to ensure that there is no injustice done to both sides.
“It is my duty to ensure that the welfare of workers is not compromised and to let them know the position of the state government when it comes to sharing of available resources.
“We will ensure that there is no any communication gap in terms of policy formation and distribution of available resources to ensure industrial harmony.”
The Governor’s aide while appreciating the labour unions in the state for show of maturity, however urged them to embrace dialogue in resolving problems.
He appreciated the state Governor for giving him opportunity again to contribute his quota for the growth and development of the state.
