ICT Project: Foundation donates N.2m to Ilorin Emirate youth group

 

The educational project of the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association received a boost as a philanthropist, Mallam Saliu Mustapha made a donation of  the sum of N200,000.

The gesture is aimed at supporting the group’s educational programme as part of measures to improve standard of the education sector in the state.

Mustapha, founder of Saliu Mustapha Foundation, announced the donation at the commissioning of an ultra modern ICT Centre built by Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association, in Ilorin, Kwara State, Thursday.

In his address, the founder identified investment in education as an antidote to address the nation’s security and economic challenges.

He said genuine and massive investment in education would fix a number of problems bedevilling the country ranging from economy, transportation, unemployment, youth restiveness, health, infrastructural decay, adding that it would also put an end to political thuggery and hooliganism.

Mustapha, however, identified as ICT as a trendy global phenomenon and said it was a necessity to be ICT compliant for those who crave global relevance.

He expressed his readiness to engage and support youth and community development based projects, saying he has taken special interest in revamping state education sector

Mustapha also stressed the need to prioritise welfare of civil servants, especially the teachers and improved infrastructures and pointed out that “no nation can develop beyond her system of education”.
