Cleric tasks KWSG on road infrastructure

Kwara State Government has been urged to pay priority attention to road rehabilitation and construction for the state to experience economic turn around.
Pastor Sunday David Awokoya of the  First ECWA, Oro-Ago, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state gave the charge during the thanksgiving service and the 2019 ECWA Oro-Ago District Church Council Convention and fund raising of N10m for its Secretariat.
This was contained in  a statement by the Chief Press Secretary  to the Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr. Bunmi Adedoyin.
The statement added that in his message, Pastor Awokoya charged Christians to play significant role in the spread of the gospel and the building of the temple.
Speaking on the theme “Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build this house” taken from the book of Haggai 1.8, he noted that nothing is too small to contribute towards building of the House of the Lord.
The Cleric who is the Sub-Dean, ECWA Theological Seminary College, Igbaja, also called on wealthy individuals from Oro-Ago land to let their impact be felt and ensure the early completion of the secretariat.
He implored those in diaspora to come home and invest in the state to ensure its socio-economic and industrial development.
Pastor Awokoya prayed for the success of the present administration challenging the government to be upright and fight corruption that is affecting the state and the nation.
Pastor Awokoya specifically charged the people to always worship and praise God in all circumstances just as he urged them to allow those in government to perform and not distract them with frivolous requests and demands.
The Oloro of Oro-Ago, Oba Johnson Olanrewaju Dada in his message pledged the support of his people to the present administration and prayed that God would use the Governor and his deputy positively for the progress and the development of the State.
Oba Dada called on indigenes of the town to come home and invest to ensure the development of the ancient town.
The thanksgiving and Convention was attended by the former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Chief Joel Ogundeji, traditional rulers front Kwara South Senatorial District led by the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti, eminent personalities and indigenes of Oro-Ago among others.
In his remarks, the Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi assured that  the present administration will work assiduously to ensure the development and progress of the state.
The Deputy Governor promised that the present administration would not siphon nor engage in financial recklessness.
He stressed that the cardinal focus of the government would be to ensure the development and progress of the State, calling for support of people through prayers.
