Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji has every right to brag following the release of her first directorial debut film, Lion Heart, in which she starred in.
The movie which was recently premiered has left many people anticipating to see it.
Apparently, things are looking really good for the elegant actress. On the eve of the premier, giant global video streaming network, Netflix, announced a deal to acquire worldwide rights to the movie, making it its first original film from Nigeria. Netflix has previously licensed Nollywood flicks including romantic comedy The Wedding Party as well as crime thriller October 1, but only after both had been screened in local cinemas.
In a recent interview with Richard Quest of CNN on September 11, Genevieve Nnaji revealed how she was able to gather funds for the production of Lion Heart and the chances of Nollywood gaining global acceptance.
“For money, we had to self-fund unfortunately, she said, we don’t have adequate funding for movies that we actually intend to go global, there isn’t that provision yet.’’
