Plans have been concluded for the first economic summit by Offa community in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State in November.
This is towards making the town an economic and industrial hub in the state.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the organising committee, Dr. Ahmed Raji during a chat with Pilot Business on Sunday.
He maintained that the summit will greatly improve on the economy and the social life of the ancient town.
According to him, the essence of the summit is to come up with a blueprint in order to make Offa an industrial hub of the state.
“Offa indigenes are industrious and they are doing very well in various fields across the globe. What we cannot get politically, I think we can get it economically.
“Part of the working plans is to have an industrial park with modern infrastructural edifice that will encompass different vocational skills to the economic benefit of Offa and Kwara at large,” he explained.
Raji noted that the peculiarity of Offa in commerce and trade alongside its comparative advantage stood the community out among its contemporaries.
“We showcase professionalism in all areas and as a matter of urgency, we have to look at our peculiarities to match it with other factors of production.
The first Offa summit has been scheduled to hold on November 2nd and 3rd, 2018 at the ODU hall in Offa.
The ancient town of Offa was agog last week when Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, publicly unveiled the logo of first Offa Economic Summit.
