In a bid to enhance education, the Chairperson of Ilorin West Local Government Area, Hajia Aminat Omodara has distributed furniture and exercise books to primary schools in Kwara State.
The Chairman while handing over the items to the schools management recently stressed that the gesture is aimed at improving the quality of education in Ilorin West and Kwara State at large.
She said,” We have taken recognisance of the education sector as the bedrock of human capital development therefore we have decided to start from the primary stage by ensuring our pupils have the basic necessities of learning.
“We believe that if these children have solid foundation at the primary stage they will find learning easier at both secondary and tertiary level.”
Omodara however tasked the pupils to make judicious use of the items to improve their learning in school in order to become leaders in the society.
“I implore you to focus more on your education in order to be responsible citizens in future and good ambassadors of your schools, state and country at large.”
She enjoined management of the benefiting schools to ensure that the items are properly taken care of.
Omodara also called on parents and guardians to ensure that they check the notebooks of their wards each time they return from school.
Responding, the head teacher of Al-Yahudeen Local Government Education Authority, Alore, Alhaja Adama Eletu appreciated the Chairman for the gesture even as she assured of the use of the items for the benefit of the pupils.
