Youth warned against materialism

Youths have been cautioned against inordinate crave for material things which leads to the path of perdition and eternal damnation.
The warning was issued by the Minister-in-Charge of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, City of Grace, Obbo road, Ilorin, Reverend Kelechi Odii in his Sunday sermon.
In his message “Youth Living by the Word of God,” he charged youths to abstain from worldly affairs and be holy.
He urged them to seek first the kingdom of God as other things will be added unto, according to the biblical promise.
The clergyman advised them to use their strength and time in the service of God, noting that it is more profitable to yield to divine calling.
While lamenting the growing population of youth embracing crime, he alluded the trend to the crave for material things and get quick syndrome.
Meanwhile, Christians have been urged to glorify God at all time and propagate the gospel for souls to be won into the kingdom.
This was the charge by a Cleric, Pastor Ola-Olu Adeyemo in his sermon delivered at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Ilorin District Headquarters.
In the sermon themed:”Kingdom exploits that count”, the Pastor Adeyemo urged believers to emulate Christ in all that they do in order to win souls for the kingdom of God.
The Cleric then called on Ministers of God to harp on the fruits of the spirit in their sermons and teaching in order to encourage righteous living in a corrupt society.
Similarly, Christian women have been called upon to be more resolute, courageous and determined to pursue their God’s divine agenda for their lives.
Reverend Helen Ebun Oluwakorode made the call at a one-day annual programme of the Royal Women Ministries with the theme “the unstoppable woman” held at Calvary Message Church, Ogunsola Street off Asa dam road, Ilorin.
She encouraged women not to be discouraged by criticism but to live above pettiness but focus on the author and finisher of their faith.
Reverend Oluwakorode implored them to forge ahead on what they believe would make them better and relevant in the church and the society and play greater role in the development of the nation.
In his message titled, “How to become a prosperous nation”, Pastor Taiye Aransiola of United Evangelical Miracle Church Off Yidi Road, Ilorin called on Nigerians to desist from evil deeds and live a life of holiness unto God.
Speaking at this year’s women anniversary, with the theme “Let Christ reign in you”, Pastor ldowu Constain of the New Life Holy Trinity Chapel Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin urged women to be role model to their family and the society and let the teachings of the Bible be their guilding principles.
Also in her message at the annual thanksgiving, Reverend Mother Remi Adegbemiro of the Halleluyah C & S Church, Kilanko road, Ilorin admonished Chrstians to appreciate God through praise singing for His mercy.
Pastor Aremu Abidoye of the Ark of God Covenant Faith Bible Ministry, Amayo implored Chrstians not to relent in praying for their leaders for divine direction.
Reverend James Adedoyin of ECWA, Ita Elepa, Ilorin in his message titled “forgiveness is part of tickets to the kingdom of God” called on Christians to develop the spirit of forgiveness and move closer to God in worship.
