9 Suspected cultists remanded in Ilorin

The magistrate court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, yesterday, remanded 9 persons who are suspected to be members of secret cults.
The Police First Information Report (FIR) revealed that the suspected cultists were arrested in a hideout named ‘Evil Spirit House’ at Amilegbe area, Ilorin.
Those arrested at the hideout are; Abdulkareem Jamiu, Akeem Wahab, Musa Aremu, Afolabi Ibrahim, Usman Saliu, Abdulganiyu Alabi, Jamet Victoria, Hassan Abdullahi and Mustapha Teslim.
The police report however disclosed that the suspects are members of the Aiye secret cult confraternity using the said abode as hideout.
Investigation equally revealed that the suspected cultists are the criminal element terrorising innocent citizens within the metropolis, the FIR stressed.
The prosecutor, Yusuf Nasir however informed the court that the matter is for mention even as he prayed for adjourned date.
The submission was not objected by Barr. Oyewole Olajide who spoke on behalf of other accused counsels.
The judge however remanded the accused persons, as he adjourned the case to October, 9, 2018 for further mention.
