In its contribution to poverty eradication and encourage entrepreneurial skills, the AmuGold Global Network has empowered about 200 women, youths and children in Kwara State through provision of funds for small scale businesses and scholarships among others.
The Chairman of AmuGold Global Network, Mr Temitope Amujo disclosed this during an interview with newsmen on the sideline of the 2018 Jimpo Cute Baby Award Dinner held at Kwara Hotel, last Monday.
The Chairman said, ” Our corporate social responsibility is targeted at children, youths and women in the society. We want to ensure that children have cheap and quality education in the society.
” in doing that we felt that we can use our products like the Jimpo-Ori skincare soap and ointment to empower them.
“The reason we came up with the Jimpo kids contest is to know those who are using our products and give them scholarship to continue their education.
“in view of this we are rewarding winner in the first position with N150,000, second position will go home with N80,000 and the third position N40,000 to contribute our quota for them to get education,” he explained.
Amujo further explained that the AmuGold Helpers Foundation has six arms that is involved in philanthropy.
He said, “We have the family helper, widows helper, Orphan helper, children helper, student helper and the business helper arms.
” Under the farmers helper arm we have young agro entrepreneurs and have empowered 50 youths through training on vegetable cultivation. We have also empowered five widows with N10,000 to start vegetable farms at their backyards.
“We also identified students with talents as our ambassadors and given them scholarship and for business owners we conduct seminar every February where we empower almost 100 people on how to have viable business.
Earlier, the Managing Director of the Company, Mrs. Amujo Adebola revealed that they are into the production of soap and ointment from sheabutter called Jimpo-Ori baby skincare.
She added that the company was conceptualise to assist people after winning Federal government ‘Youwin award’ about four years ago.
