Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS Ilorin FC) on Wednesday beat Kogi United 1-0 in the Nigeria National League (NNL) match played at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.
The highest goal scorer for Nigeria U-17 team in the just concluded Africa Youth Championship, Olakunle Olusegun scored the only goal for Saraki Boys in the second half, via spot kick.
The match, was difficult for the home side due to away team’s defensive style. The game ended goalless in the first half of the thrilling encounter.
On resumption, ABS boys Coach, Suleiman Toume quickly made two changes, as he introduced Olakunle Olusegun and Rasak Noha.
The substitution however paid off as the visitors succumb to pressure when one of the Kogi defenders brought down ABS striker, Golden Udoiyang in the vital area and the centre referee quickly awarded a penalty, which was well taken by Olakunle Olusegun.
The victory was a back to back win for ABS who had defeated Kaduna United 1-0 in Ilorin a fortnight ago.
