Alleged killers of Bayo Ajia, Bukola Ajikobi, Yemi Bayero, others sent to prison

The magistrate court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, last Thursday, sent no fewer than six suspected notorious members of Aiye confraternity to prison.
Those remanded on the order of magistrate, Ibrahim Muhammed included Abolaji Saffi a.k.a Ojulari, Suleiman Babatunde, Yusuf Abeeb, Umar Yahaya and others, all of different addresses in the state capital.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), the suspected cultists are those who murdered the Bayo Ajia, Bukola Ajikobi, Yemi Bayero, Jamiu Eleyele and several others in Ilorin metropolis.
Based on credible information gathered about the killings of innocent people in Ilorin by notorious secret cult group, the police report stated that the rendezvous of Aiye confraternity were stormed by the police and the six accused persons were apprehended.
It added that investigations conducted at the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) revealed that the accused persons were initiated into the confraternity between 2000 and 2017.
The FIR further alleged that the accused are the criminal elements terrorising Ilorin and its environs and also specialise in killings of innocent people.
The prosecutor, Yusuf Nasir informed the court that alleged offence of the accused persons is not ordinarily bailable adding that they should be remanded.
The counsel to the accused persons, Barr. S. A Shogo therefore prayed the court to admit his clients to bail saying they’re still presumed innocent.
Magistrate Ibrahim in his short ruling ordered that the six accused persons be remanded in prison while he adjourned the case to November 15, 2018.
