APC Crisis: Beginning of the end
With Adetunji Ayobrown
Life never fails to amuse me with everyday events and happenings, as if I were the only one seeing and feeling this strangeness of our daily national events. Something more than ordinary if you ask me, but, I know I am not alone in this realm and with this state of mind. Nigeria’s daily occurrences now turn very funny, too interesting, and humorous indeed.
I met a group of classmates to evaluate the reality of nothing else but our mother’s message as an assignment, this group was divided into two. One for and the other against, to make analyses, arguments. Of course the discussions were varied…many, if not every member of the group came to a conclusion, and agreed on one thing, ‘mum calls will never go unanswered’.
Application of this is permutated into our day-to-day lives, an event that made us gathered, as we are all meeting for the first time. As God would have it, most of them agreed to names of women nationalists, among them, Mrs Aisha Buhari. They all agreed on most of her decisions on many national, even private issues. Instantly, her name took over like wild bush fire. Many of her quotes started coming and settling in my brain, as if I was in a trance. I felt these and remembered my own mother’s message too. Oh My God!
I had written many topics on this mother (woman), one, where she said, her husband’s APC had been taken over by cabals, truth is bitter if you ask me, then many condemned her for saying such, but ever since, had cabals not taken charge of our administration here in Nigeria? Is her husband’s government getting it up to 30% correct? Even when the scored percentage is far less than the required and if the government must get the pass mark….is a dead judge’s name not among (her husband) Buhari’s Travel Ban List, all as if no one was in charge? Too many laughable and ridiculous occurrences couple with unimaginable excuses … I know your answer will be too different from mine. But, let’s leave that to the political analysts and for another discussion.
Then i remembered this piece i wrote “APC Buhari’s 14.6million votes: A function of price and Value”, i quoted the wife of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari, where she issued a very strongly worded statement accusing Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and APC leaders of ‘impunity’ and ‘unfairness’.
And that is why i said life never fails to amuse me, but ‘I pledge to Nigeria my country’ so says a verse of our national anthem, i think i am a good Nigerian.
And another piece of mine was, “Don’t blame people who call Oshiomhole ‘a bad luck”, where I warned on imminent APC’s auto-disintegration. It was revealed then that President Buhari is or was not satisfied and too happy with Oshiomhole’s many actions and comments. The APC Chairman portrayed the president as inefficient imagine the Comrade saying that if the President was condoning indiscipline from his cabinet, he was not going to condone it. Then, we all asked Oshiomhole to be more specific of erring members been condoned by the president.
Adams claimed to have about 90% support of APC membership. Wondered why he needs to worry about the insignificant less than 10%….funny, and like I will always say, numbers are funny, and really very funny indeed! “90 is less than 10 – Adams on APC” should have been the news major headline the following morning. ‘C’est ne pas possible’, a French friend twitted. Ok, but what else is playing out now in the party today?
Wonders shall never end; the vicious predator now turned meek prey, Aha ha! I laugh in Greek…would not be too bad for a reaction. So, truly and indeed what goes around must surely turn around.
As he did with his promise to expel any member, Oshiomhole did carried out his threats on more than 90% APC members, where many (and still counting) were forced out of their ‘labour land’, the APC.
Now ‘Oracle Aisha’ had spoken again, and indeed she had spoken well! Now, I am your student, I think a better understandings of these words will definitely be part of the questions that will come to mind.
Small bad news, impunity and unfairness as defined are not palatable if someone’s name is referred to or tagged.
Look at this, ‘APC Crisis: Oshiomhole, ‘Lagos Cabal Leader’ Are Fraudulent’, this latest gist on Ogun Governor, Ibikunle Amosun talking tough, check the social media as this headline must have had over million hit by now. Amosun was said to be protesting against the outcome of the All progressives Congress (APC) primaries in his state as he accused Adams Oshiomhole of colluding with “a cabal in Lagos” to write fake results, which produced Dapo Abiodun as the party’s governorship candidate for the state the 2019 election.
He claimed the involvement of Senator Ahmed Tinubu and Chief Segun Osoba in the alleged fraud, citing their silence on the matter as evidence of their consent to it… silence means acceptance…we all know this.
“The President already know there was no election in Ogun State, quoting Amosun. He also did pointed accusing finger at many, including President Buhari, he said he knows that they just went to Lagos, write all results, and that what they did is fraud.
If the National Working Committee or the National Chairman said there was any election in Ogun State, then, it was all fraud. “That is what I said”, Amosun stated clearly.
Then if fish could be rotten from the head, then not only fishmongers could imagine what will happen to the rest of its body. It is not well with Oshimhole’s style of leadership, even President Buhari too agreed and there are millions more.
Mrs Buhari was quoted to have advised Nigerians to vote wisely in 2019…many said she’s not voting the APC in 2019. Or maybe someone offered her what she could not refuse, I asked.
Over 3000 APC members left the party in Kano, and information had it that only two governors and not even the president is on Adam’s side.
‘Ile ta fi to omo, iri ni yo wo’ in this time of crisis, APC should rather build bridges, but what we are witnessing, uhmmm only fools will prefer to build barriers.
Worst cases of Ekiti and Osun guber incidences in still very fresh in our minds; APC had shown us all that to serve Nigeria is by force. ‘APC Crisis: Now it is Oshiomhole’s turn’ is on the lips of many Nigerians, including more than 90% of APC membership. Oracle Aisha said “It is disheartening to note that some aspirants used their hard earned money to purchase nomination forms, got screened, cleared and campaigned vigorously yet found their names omitted on Election Day, these forms were bought at exorbitant prices”. Major dailies had it; Beauty of complacency is okay, but if you don’t try anything new you will never fail, imagine the fact that APC rakes in over 12 billion naira from sales of forms from over 2100 aspirants and hopeless party contenders. What a huge amount even to many state governments, many of whom are owing workers’ salaries and allowances…little wonder why the oracle warned on these impunities and unfairness. And like most dangerous games, this is playing very fast and very hard, ‘Eni to oun npe e, ko dake olongbo agboya’, this is the beginning of the end as this APC revolution may not stop until the end of this beginning is 100% of its lifecycle.
War they say is a continuation of politics, and politics is a continuation of economy by all the means, this is what is playing out in APC.
