Emirate youths seek partnership with ECOWAS

The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has called for partnership with the Economic community of West African State (ECOWAS) and other associations in the country in other to further attract development to the state.
IEYDA made the call during a visit to the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to ECOWAS, Ambassador Babatunde Nurudeen in his office in Abuja penultimate Thursday.
Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Salaudeen who used the visit to brief Ambassador Nurudeen on its preparation for the forthcoming annual empowerment programme added that the group had contributed positively to the growth of Ilorin Emirate and the state in general in the area of empowerment programmes and community development.
In his remarks, Ambassador Nurudeen called on well-meaning Nigerians to always support community development in their domains for the growth of the nation.
He said community development is a responsibility of all to accelerate more growth in the country and acknowledged the association for embarking on annual empowerment programme to alleviate the suffering of the people.
Earlier, the National Publicity Secretary of IEYDA, Alhaji Uthman Jagunma said the association was established about five year ago to eradicate poverty, engaged youths in various programmes and empowerment for old age.
Also speaking, the National Missioner of the Association, Alhaji Muritala Ottan appreciated those who contributed positively to the growth of the association since its establishment and urged them not to relent in their efforts towards the growth of Ilorin emirate and the state as a whole
The association also mosa Saidu, the Director of Test and Administration JAMB Abuja, Doctor Yusuf Lawal, the Director of Rail Department Federal Ministry of Transport Abuja, Alhaji Mohammed Tunji Babakobi, Alhaji Sulyman Bolakale Kawu Rural Electrification Agency Abuja, the Director of Finance and Account, Federal Court of Appeal Abuja, Alhaji Hanafi Olademeji and a Senator representing Kwara South at the National Assembly, Hon Rafiu Ibrahim who all pledged to support the association to accelerate more developments in the state.
