Nigerian forward dumps Falcons, USA for England

 

Nigerian descent Chioma Ubogagu has dumps Super Falcons and the United State of America for England after she was named in Lionesses upcoming friendly match against Austria and Sweden.

The 26-year-old striker is not the only uncapped player included in the England squad with three other uncapped players will feature as Phil Neville side continue their preparations for the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.

Chi’s parent club, Orlando Pride have informed via their official website that she was eligible to play for the United States and Nigeria but has elected to play for England moving forward.

Ubogagu was born in London started her career with Arsenal ladies in 2015 before moving to Texas as a child and now plays for Brisbane Roar, where she is on loan from Orlando Pride but she has previously represented United States U18, U20 and U23 national teams and received her first USA senior national team call-up in November 2017.

The Brisbane Roar attacker was in the United States U20 side that defeated Nigeria 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2012 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
