Saraki donates N12m to ex- SA, SSAs 

 

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has donated the sum of N12 million to the forum of former Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants in Kwara State.
The Director General of ABS Constituency Office, Ilorin, Alh Musa Abdullahi, on Tuesday presented a cheque to the representatives of the forum in his office on behalf of Saraki.
Abdullahi said the donation was done to make life more comfortable for the former public officers and their families.
He said Saraki, as the state’s political leader and National Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) is concerned about the welfare and wellbeing of the generality of people of the state.
This, the DG said explains why Saraki has consistently been providing succour to those in need, including students, women, artisans, groups and associations across the state.
He urged the people of Kwara to continue to support the Senate President in order to deliver more dividends of democracy to them.
In a related development, the Senate President, on Monday, donated the sum of N15 million to three different traders’ associations in the state.
The beneficiaries of the largesse are; Market Men and Women Association, Taxi Drivers Association and Association of Motor Spare Parts Dealers, Ipata Oloje, Ilorin.
The donation was to assist two of the associations; the taxi drivers union and market men and women association in the building of their respective secretariats while the donation to the motor spare parts dealers association is to assist in boosting their businesses.
The Director General, ABS Constituency Office, Ilorin, Alh Musa Abdullahi presented cheques of N5 million each to the representatives of  the three associations in his office on behalf of the Senate President.
Abdullahi said Saraki’s gesture was in recognition of the associations’ members contributions to the socio- economic development of the state.
He asked them not to waiver in their support for the Saraki political dynasty and urged them to use the monies for the purposes intended.
Responding, the market women leader, Alhaja Adenike AbdulKareem Lambe appreciated Saraki for the gesture even as she assured him of the total support of all market men and women in the state. In their responses, Chairman of the taxi drivers association, Alhaji Issa Salami and the Chairman of motor spare parts dealers, Alhaji Baba Alapa, pledged to mobilise their members and families to vote en masse for the candidates of the PDP during the 2019 general elections in the state.
They described Saraki’s act of generosity as legendary, promising to reciprocate the Senate President’s kindness towards them at the appropriate time.
