3,000 dump APC for Saraki
…as Magajis, Alanguas, ex-Councillors drum supports for Atunwa

Less than three months to the general elections in the state, the camp of the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued to swell following the decision of over 3,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to dump opposition for the ruling party.
Besides, the Magaji and Alangua Forum in the Emirate, ex-councillors and National Association of Kwara State Students’ (NAKSS) in the state have drummed their support for the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Hon Razak Atunwa in 2019 election.
The APC decampees who cut across various political organisations in the state met with the Senate President and National Leader of the PDP, Dr Bukola Saraki where they pledged their loyalty.
This is about the third time within a month that Saraki and PDP will be welcoming hundreds of decampees back to the party.
Few weeks back, about 500 youth supporters loyal to aggrieved APC aspirant, Prof. Shuaib Oba AbdulRaheem dumped the party for the Saraki-led PDP citing lack of internal democracy and brazen imposition.
But addressing the decampees at Ile-Arugbo, Iloffa road, Ilorin, Saraki who was visibly elated thanked them for the decision in the midst of strong intimidation and harassment and assured them of a level playing field in the PDP.
He said the PDP is where “God is” and expressed optimism that the party would form the next government at the state and federal level.
According to him, everybody will be carried along in the scheme of things. He assured the youth of equal opportunities with the existing members of the PDP in the state.
Saraki was accompanied to the ceremony by the state Chairman of the PDP, Engr. Kola Shittu, his Secretary, Alhaji Rasaq Lawal and the Director General, ABS Constituency Office, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi.
