Theft: Man sentenced to 3 months imprisonment

 

The Upper Area Court 1 sitting in Ilorin, the state capital on Monday sentenced one Saheed Abdulkareem to prison for stealing motorcycle.

The Police First Information Report (FIR) revealed that on 1st November, 2018, the community chairman of Alagbado area, Ilorin reported to ‘C’ Division Oja-Oba Ilorin that one Saheed Abdulkareem of Eji Moro Local Government Area of the state stole a Bajaj Motorcycle with registration No. FST 144 QL, which was parked along Specialist Hospital Road, Alagbado.

The FIR further revealed that with the assistance of the community members, Abdulkareem was apprehended.

During the course of police investigation, Abdulkareem confessed to the crime.

He was dragged before Justice Joshua Adeniyi for theft contrary to sections 287 of the penal code law.

The prosecutor, Asp. Mojisola Olamokun therefore prayed the court to convict the accused as investigation has been concluded on the matter.

In his ruling, Judge Adeniyi convicted and sentenced Abdulkareem to 3 months imprisonment with the option of N3,000.
