Unilorin: You’re an impostor, ASUU tells acclaimed chairman

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ibadan Zone has disowned one Dr. Usman Adebimpe Raheem for claiming to be the Chairman of the University of Ilorin chapter of the union.

Zonal Coordinator of the union, Dr. Ade Adejumo in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, added that Raheem was not even a member of the union, let alone being a chapter chairman.

Adejumo in the statement titled “Unilorin and ASUU strike: U. A. Raheem is an imposter”, described the acclaimed chairman as a “serial plagiarist and shameless imposter with proclivity for parading himself to be what he actually is not both in fact and logic”.

Adejumo said, “The Ibadan zone of ASUU is compelled to respond to the irresponsible vituperation of one U. A. Raheem on the state of the current national strike embarked upon by our Union. We would have ignored the ranting of Raheem as a mere distractive irritant, but because records have to be put straight once again about the character of the person in question.

“As a result of the above, let it be put on record that U. A. Raheem is not known to our Union as its Unilorin Branch Chairperson. To start with, Raheem is not a member of ASUU, talk less of his being the Chairperson of the Union in Unilorin as being claimed. The Chairperson of ASUU Unilorin known to us is Dr. Kayode Afolayan who has since joined the strike with all our members loyal to the Union.

“Raheem latest outburst is never surprising to us. He is only living up to his ungracious pedigree as a fraudulent character. Here is a serial plagiarist and shameless imposter with proclivity for parading himself to be what he actually is not both in fact and logic.

“That such a reprobate and rouge academic has the mouth to talk as the representative of the academic collective at the University of Ilorin indicates how deep that University has been dragged into the morass of moral and academic degeneration. On the basis of this, it is therefore incumbent on the Unilorin academic collective to rise up and shove off the band of shameless parasites led by U. A. Raheem who have illegally been thriving over their long silence. The damage to their collective honour and psyche should not be allowed to continue.

“We understand that Raheem’s recent outburst is part of his desperate schemes to save his neck after being exposed as a rogue scholar adept only in intellectual robbery. We only hope that the authority of Unilorin fast tracks the process of his being shown the gate before he does further damage to the image of the university”.
