The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday released the list of 22 gubernatorial candidates from different political parties to contest the 2019 governorship election in the state.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), submitted Hon Razak Atunwa as its candidate while the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq. Comrade Issa Aremu was listed by INEC as the candidate for Labour Party (LP).
There were three female governorship candidates in the race in the light of the latest development.
Three Kwara female governorship candidates are Muibi Muibat Aduke of the (APA), Deaconess Comfort Yinka of the (UPP) and Rukayat Toyin Tijani of the (MPN).
Others include Murtala Tunde (ACPN), Alabi Morakinyo (KOWA), Barrister Paul Ajiroba (PPN), Kolawole Sharafadeen Aderemi (APA), Yahaya Kale Saadu (MAJA), Ayorinde Adedoyin (Accord), Taimiyu Kolapo Kamarudeen (PPA), Thomas Audu Gana (ADP), AbdulAzeez Yinka Oniyangi (NPM), Omotosho Bamidele Olaiya (GPN), Prince Soladoye Samuel Sunday (UPN), Comrade Issa Obalowu Aremu (Labour), Oyebambi Adetunji (UDP), Oshin Bayo David (WTPN), Adekunke Joseph Kehinde (CAP), Issa Manzuma (ADC), Ibrahim Abdullahi Anifowoshe (MRDD), Belgore Ahmad Kawu (JMPP), Dr Popoola Kehinde Adeyemi (NRM), Alhaji Abdullahi Yekini Bada, Muhammed Liman Abdullahi (ANP), Abdulmumin Yinka Ajia (ANRP), Mohammed Abubakar Mohammed (APN), Olajide Joseph Adebola (SDP), Mr Aransiola Ezekiel (PDC), Mustafa Oladuntan (NCP), Adisa Ismaila Abayomi (AA) and Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammed (DA).
The Director voter Education, Jacob Ayanda, said that the political parties have window of opportunities to change or replace names on or before December 1, this year.
