Hope of God Evangelical Drama Ministry, a new Christian drama ministry was yesterday, launched in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The event which took place at the Evangelical Church Hall, ECWA Osere, had in attendance clergymen and film producers and marketers among others.
Speaking shortly after the event, the Chairman and producer of the ministry, Elder Steven Olatayo Odeyemi said the concept behind setting up the drama ministry is to win disciples to the kingdom of God.
“The film is titled; Ijafara, which is meant to call followers of Christ on the need to brace up their spiritual race so as not to be carried away by the good things of life.
“It is to sensitise Christians to be steadfast in their spirituality so as to meet up with God on judgement day,” he said.
Odeyemi who is an accountant by profession with KAM Industries Nigeria Limited further said, the film will go a long way in cleansing the moral rots in the society, owing to its composition of biblical principles.
Earlier, Dr. Samuel Joshua lauded the initiative particularly at this critical time when worldliness has taken over the sanctity of the church.
Also at the event, the Board of Trustees (BoT) for the ministry was inaugurated by the Senior Pastor of ECWA Church, Oja-Iya, Rev(Dr) Kola Okanlawon, who charged them to be resolute in seeing to the growth of the ministry.
