The Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, and stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Hajia Sarat Adebayo has continued her ward sensitization tour with a visit to Sefura zone of Ibagun Ward in Ilorin East Local Government Area of the State.
At the zone, Hajia Sarat, canvassed support for the national leader of the PDP and Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and all candidates of the party in the 2019 general elections.
She reiterated the love of Saraki for the people of Ilorin East, which she said culminated in the appointment of sons and daughters of the area into various political offices from 2003 till date.
She therefore urged the people to vote massively for PDP candidates in the forthcoming election, stressing that they must deliver victory for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as President of Nigeria, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki as Senator to represent Kwara Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa as Governor of Kwara State, Hon. Abdulwahab Issa as member to represent Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency and other candidates of the party.
She asked the people to be wary and not be cajoled by certain politicians who turned against Saraki after making fortunes through him, saying that such individuals have nothing to offer the people.
Hajia Sarat said Kwara remains the stronghold of Saraki, adding that any community desirous of development must queue behind the winning party.
The highlight of the event was the defection of hundreds of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP. The decampees promised to work tirelessly in ensuring the PDP wins not only the zone but the Ibagun ward as a whole in next year’s elections.
Also, the political forums associated with Saraki in the ward including ABS for Kowa nKwara, Marvelous Youth Movement Ibagun, Bukola Saraki Toyosi Political Movement among others, appreciated Hajia Sarat’s regular financial supports for the members of their forums.
They also commended her for the projects she personally funded within the ward such as provision of boreholes as well as road projects she facilitated to the area through the ABS Constituency Office and the State government.
