ABS goalkeeper selects for F/Eagles WAFU Cup
The Director of Football (DOF) of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, Alloy Chukwuemeka, has expressed delight that one of his goalkeepers, Horlah Oladeji, who made the Flying Eagles’ squad for the WAFU tournament.
Chukwuemeka said this on Sunday in Ilorin that Oladeji’s selection was another step forward for the reason the proprietor of the club, Dr. Bukola Saraki, set up the team.
“Dr. Saraki is funding the club to give youth an opportunity to develop a football Super star.
“Going to a decade now, no time we do not have a player in one national team or the other, I’m sure this will delight our proprietor too.
“Before Oladeji’s selection, we have both Wasiu Alalade and Adeshina Gata in the Flying Eagles, last year, while playing with us, Chinedu Ajanah was invited for the CHAN Eagles and played against Spanish giant, Atletico Madrid in Uyo, this year.
“We have Olakunle Olusegun in the U-17 doing well, in fact, he won two man of the match awards during the Nations Cup playoff in Niger few months ago” Chukwuemeka said.
He said the club would continue to give more Nigerian youth opportunity to develop into football Super stars through the platform created by the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
Chukwuemeka assured that there are still plenty of young and talented players in the team ready to burst into the football world in the next few months.
The 19-year-old joined the Saraki Boys from Pacific Heroes FC in Ghana in 2017.
