KWSG disburses N11.6m to 100 FADAMA farmers
The Kwara State Government has disbursed the sum of N11.67million to 100 FADAMA farmers to boost cassava and sorghum production across the 16 local government areas of the state.
The state Coordinator, FADAMA Development Project, Alhaji Yusuf Agbabiaka made this known during the presentation of cheques to the first tranche of farmers at the premises of Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resource, Ilorin, last week
He appreciated Governor Abdufatah Ahmed for supporting farmers in the state and for the full implementation of the project.
According to him, the cheque presentation was first of its kind under the FADAMA lll additional financing which took off in the state recently.
He advised the beneficiaries to use the fund judiciously, warning the farmers not to see the money as largesse.
“l implore the beneficiaries to reciprocate the good gesture of the state government by judiciously utilising the funds for the purpose it is meant. Other set of farmers will soon be supported as soon as more funds are available”, he stated.
“I must express my profound gratitude to the authorities of the state Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and National Project Coordinator of FADAMA for their immense contributions to the operations of the project.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources who is also Chairman, FADAMA Technical Committee, Alhaji Mohammed Kastina expressed delight over the giant strides the project has recorded in the state.
