KWSG fulfils pledges, present N3.5m to Adepoju, Oliha’s widow
The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed yesterday, presented the Cheque of 2.5million Naira to former Administrator of Kwara Football Academy, Mr Mutiu Adepoju and 1Million Naira to the wife of the Late Coach Thomson Oliha as part of compensation to assist the family.
Presenting the cheque to the recipients on behalf of the Governor, the state Commissioner for Sports and Youth development, Hon. Muideen Alalade described the gesture as a realisation of the promise made by the Governor.
You will recall that Mr. Mutiu Adepoju had sometimes ago took the state government to court for failure to pay him his allowances but after the meetings with him, the issue was resolved out of court.
The Commissioner, while commending the action of the governor described it as a welcome development.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Akanbi Shuaib thanked God for making the dream and government’s promise a reality. He said “though neither me nor the Commissioner was not on ground but thank God for the success story and this show that we are up and doing”.
According to him, it is only God that can reward someone and he has endowed us to be good to one another and pray Allah to continue guiding and protecting the recipient for their good services.
Responding the super Eagle Legend, Adepoju, appreciated Governor Ahmed for the good gesture.
Adepoju said he was happy to be the recipient of money.
Also, the wife of the Late Coach Thomson Oliha, Mrs. Jesus Aisosa Oliha, appreciated the state government for the gesture.
Meanwhile, Governor Ahmed had paid one and half month salary to staff of the Kwara Football Academy as part of their backlog Salary owned them.
