5 months after, Unilorin missing student, Aisha, yet to be found

Five months after she was declared missing, 200 Level student of the University of Ilorin, Aisha Kuranga, is yet to be found.
The 19-year-old Aisha, who is a student of the Department of Educational Technology in the institution, disappeared without a trace on 24th July, 2018.
The undergraduate was said to have gone missing after writing her examination on the fateful day at about 7pm.
Speaking to National Pilot in a telephone chat on Saturday, Aisha’s father, Alhaji Kayode Kuranga said all efforts to bring back his daughter has proved abortive.
He said all efforts by the police, Department of State Security (DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to locate his daughter is yet to yield the desired result.
“I have spent so much money for security operatives to help locate and bring back my child, yet she is yet to be found.
” I was told that they (police) have sent signal to Abuja over my daughter’s case some months ago, but we are yet to get feedback.”
Kuranga therefore called on the state Police Commissioner,Bolaji Fafowora to step into the matter for his daughter’s return home.
” I’m using this opportunity to seek for help of the state Commissioner of Police to use Hus good office and position as CP to intervene by assisting us in getting quick response and getting the whereabout of our daughter.
“We are presently in dilemma over the whole situation and not knowing where we are on the matter, ” he lamented.
However, a police source who spoke to this medium over the issue, said the former Commissioner of Police, Aminu Pai took concrete steps on the case, which led to arrest of three suspects.
He, howrver, confided in this medium that the three suspects arrested in connection with the case had been released.
The source disclosed that the case of the missing student was being investigated at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.
When contacted on the development, the state Police Spokesperson, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said the case is still being investigated.
In a telephone interview, he said, ” Since the day the case was reported, the officers in charged have been working round the clock to ensure the girl returns safely.”
Recall that in an earlier interview, the missing girl’s father had expressed confidence that his child would be found soon.
He said, “I rely on Almighty Allah and I believe the security operatives will find my child and she will return home safely,” he added.
