APC lacks men with right leadership qualities – Gov Ahmed

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has said that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state lacks the human resources to lead the party to victory in the 2019 general elections.
He further added that efforts are afoot by his government to bridge infrastructure deficit across the 16 Local Government Areas in the state.
Governor Ahmed dropped the hint at the monthly stakeholders’ meeting of the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the opposition lacked quality leaders to provide the right leadership in the state.
He urged members of the recently inaugurated Mandate 2019 to embark on ward to ward campaign to ensure victory for the party in the polls and called for unity and cooperation among party faithful.
According to him, leaders of the party are going round to address some issues and tie the loose ends, saying that the PDP would win all elections in the state next year.
The governor also charged all political office holders and other stakeholders to champion campaign from ward to the national levels under the supervision of the party executive.
On infrastructure, the Governor explained that all faulty boreholes, transformers and classrooms will be put into shape for the benefit of the citizenry.
The intention according to the governor is to address the challenges facing residents across the state under the government’s water support scheme.
Governor Ahmed further explained that repair works is on-going on some faulty boreholes across the 16 Local Government Areas in the state, assuring that his government is committed to making life conducive for all citizens.
He said: “Our Government will continue to improve on the state of infrastructure in the state and we will also continue with the business of governance despite the fact that our administration is exiting”.
Governor Ahmed also promised to sustain the ongoing empowerment of women and youths in order to improve their welfare and stimulate the economy positively.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of PDP, Engineer Kola Shittu said the party had begun moves to reconcile all aggrieved members across the state in order to ensure the victory of the party in next year’s general elections.
He said the recently inaugurated campaign committee were mapping out strategies for campaign which would soon commence across the state.
Shittu thanked Governor Ahmed for his support for the party and expressed optimism that the PDP would coast to victory in the coming elections.
In her remarks, the state Women Leader, Hajia Ramat Oganija thanked the governor for the recent empowerment for the womenfolk in the state and promised that women in the state would remain supportive of his administration and the party.
