Eminent community leader, Daudu Agaka’s fidau holds, Sunday
The Ilorin community has been thrown into mourning following the passing of the Daudu Agaka who doubles as the Dan Iya of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Kawu Folorunsho Agaka.
The late Agaka died on Monday at the age of 87 and had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
The deceased who is survived by wives, children and grandchildren was the first Dan Iya of Ilorin.
He worked in various sectors of the then Ilorin Native Authority before his appointment as the private secretary of the Ilorin Emirates Council in 1975.
Agaka was turbaned the first Dan Iya of Ilorin in November 1993.
Meanwhile, statement by the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR on behalf of the Alimi dynasty stated that the eight day fidau in honour of the late Daudu of Agaka will take place on Sunday.
The event which will hold 10am at Emir’s palace will be led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Solihu.
Among those expected to grace the event are members of the traditional council in the state as well as prominent sons and daughters of the Emirate.
