2019: Play game according to rules, Olopoewa  charges politicians

As the general elections draw nearer, political leaders in the country, have been advised to play the game according to its rules with a view to ensuring peace and stability of the country.
The Chairman, Juma’at Nasir-Islam (JNI) Alanamu Constituency in Ilorin West Local Government, Alhaji Yusuf Olopoewa made the call in Ilorin on Saturday while speaking at a special prayer, prize giving and award presentation.
The JNI Chairman warned politicians against any act that can destroy peace of the state because of their interest, adding that everyone would account for their stewardship before God.
While calling on parents to warn their children against being used as instruments of destruction, he said no meaningful development could take place in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony.
“We must do everything to promote peace and stability of the state and the  country at large. We should see ourselves as one because politics would go and come but we must sustain the good image  which Ilorin and Kwara is known for,” he said.
The Chairman of the occasion, Justice Mas’ud Adebayo Oniye of the Shariah Court of Appeal, Ilorin, called on the people of the state to be agents of peace before, during and after the polls.
“We should not let ourselves be used as agents of discord, crisis and as thugs. We should allow peace to permeate in our society and play the game by the rules as we approach the general elections. Whoever Allah has destined to emerge should emerge through a peaceful process”, he advised.
The state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Kamaldeen Ajibade who was represented by Dr Abdulmumeen Uthman commended JNI for its contributions to the propagation of Islam and community development, urging it to sustain the good work.
Also speaking, the chairperson of the occasion and Dean Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Prof Medinat Salman also praised JNI for its youths oriented programmes especially Islamic quiz competition.
Among the awardees were; the Imam Sarumi Mosque, Ode Alfa Nda Area, Ilorin, Muhammad Mustapha Soliu; Mudiru Markaz Imam Shuaib Alaaye, Sheikh Shafi’i Shuaib Alaaye; Khalifatul Al-Ikhlas World wide, Sheikh Ibrahim Muhammad Awwal Omo Yoruba and Manager Programme, Kwara State Television Service, Alhaji Yusuf Laro Abdulrasaq.
Others are; the Chief Missioner of Al-fatihu Qareeb Muslim Organization, Kwara state branch, Sheikh Abdus-Salam Ibrahim Alanamu; Principal GDSS Pakata, Hajia Abdulkadir Aminat Olugbon; Principal Barakat Community Secondary School (Junior class), Mallam Abdulrahman Pakata; Iya Egbe Alagbo-Omo in Kwara state, Alhaja Otolorin Odunola Ishaq and Sheikh Yusuf Idris Al-Aghna.
