Kwara Utd came from behind to get a point at home against Sunshine

 

Kwara United Football club, Ilorin yesterday at home commenced the abridged new league season with a lucky draw game against the sunshine FC of Akure.
The match which stated with an impressive performance by the harmony boys saw the visiting team helpless in the hands of the host.
The host team had it’s first chance when Ebeneezer Odeyemi was brought down in the 18 yard box by sunshine defender and central referee awarded a penalty.
Segun Alebiosu with jersey number 35 take the kick, but saved by sunshine goal keeper, David Ariyo.
At exactly 4:45, Sunshine striker Franklin Sasere netted for the visitor.
However, at about 71 minutes into the second half, the harmony boys levelled up with an own goal through Seun Olulayo as the game ended with a point each.
Shortly after the match, the technical adviser, sunshine star, Kabiru Godo describe the game as a good start for his side.
“Despite that we played our old player with very few new hand,  it is a good beginning for us.
“At the same time, we have to congratulate Kwara United for getting at least a point.
“But, our determination here today is to get three point. We are almost true, but unfortunately the God of soccer favoured the home team”, Dogo said.
He did however blamed his team own goal Conceeds to lack of communication between the defenders and the goalkeeper.
Dogo further stressed that his boys did not disappoint him with their performance in the game, owing to the fact that the team just resumed from the new year break.
“We just had three days of preparation for this match,  and our performance today is outstanding.
“We are just unlucky not taking three point here today. But, it is a good start.”
Reacting, the head coach of Kwara United FC, Bala Abubakar described the game as a good one.
According to him, nearly 60 to 65 per cent of the team are new and require time to blend.
“It is a good game, but not a good start being the first match. With time, we will quickly identify where to work on.
Bala said the visiting team is more psychologically clinical, but Kwara United missed some chances.
“We have a formidable team, and in soonest time, the team will be properly organised”, Bala said.
