Today we will be going a little wild and bold, we are talking aphrodisiacs (kayanmata).

It’s no longer news that throughout the ages, men and women have incessantly pursued all means to enhance, maintain, and bring back their sexual ability, or to stimulate the sexual desire for the opposite sex. One of the most common methods has been the use of aphrodisiacs.

You just hearing about aphrodisiacs or kayanmata for the first time, fasten your seat belt and let’s travel the world of kayanmata in this exclusive interview with Mrs. Busola Adegbite aka  Bubu the sex goddess.

What prompted the aphrodisiac business idea?

My quest to help women folk enjoy intimacy, adventure and basically to fulfil dreams and make ends meet. I’m naturally a problem solver, I love listening to people and making their burden lighter, this coupled with my environment birthed the sex shop.

What were the challenges that you faced, when you started your business?

Keeping up with chats, the fact that I started online with virtual clients was difficult; I did not expect such massive patronage and everyone wanted an immediate response. It took time before I was able to adjust and serve everyone’s needs.

How has the experience been, relating with people and your form of business?

Fun! Interesting! I loved talking about sex, I loved every reaction that comes from all, when I explain things too, I loved the fact that I was able to curb sexual frustrations. The experience has been humbling really.

The aphrodisiac business in Nigeria is becoming highly competitive ,what distinct you from your competitors?

Originality, pricing and basically God’s grace, I came here to stay, some only wants to make money without knowing the rudiments of this trade, only the toughest would be able to withstand the test of time.

How has the journey been, achieving set goals for your business?

I’ll say challenging, it’s been tough but I cannot afford to quit, we win some, we lose some, it’s still a work in progress and I know very soon we would actualize set goals since I’ve set my heart to it.

What tough decisions have you made recently?

I’m not one who makes decisions hastily, I think through before doing this and by the time I’m done analysing the pros and cons the decision would no longer be termed tough, I don’t do things I’ll regret.

Is there a difference between Bubu Timara the sex goddess and Busola Adegbite?

Oh well, not much difference but Busola is definitely not a chatter box like Bubu. Busola does more of mind work while Bubu is expressive.

What skills were you able to bring into your business from your previous job that you have found impactful?

I functioned as a Personal Assistance in my last job, (I’ve been an entrepreneur from 2008 though) I used the system and became really fast in typing which has helped in my line of job now, I reply an average of 20 chats daily. Some days even more.

Are you active on social media, and do you do online marketing?

I’ve not met 80 per cent of my clients physically, I do all online, I operate an online shop and have virtual clients.

What do you find most helpful about social media in marketing and growing your Business?

Everything! Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp. The last time my WhatsApp got banned my business suffered a great deal. It’s been really helpful and google helped in learning alot of thing.

What’s a day in your life like as a Mumpreneur?

Whew! I practically exhaled! Absolutely tasking, sometimes I feel I might lose my mind; most times I forget myself in the hustle, I get cranky, I get moody, I become hyper, above all I’m blessed with good supportive system, my husband is my biggest cheer leader, he looks out for me. This and many more, I’m grateful for.

How do you handle advances from male customers or male generally considering your nature of business?

I no longer read erotic meanings to advances, I take it as a way of life, I dismiss it especially since I deal with most of them on virtual space, nothing of this nature gets to me anymore as I do not even get to see facial expressions. We can all agree all is well.

What should we expect from Bubu Timara  in  2019?

I have another adult store in the pipeline, this time more sophisticated to cater to the elites. Fantasy Code is dropping soon with a bang! Anticipate!!!

Your favourite quote of all times?

It’s in Yoruba o, I say this and I still said it today, “eniti oba mobi egbe e Tila, aaa sare ku ni” Run your own race at your own pace, you can’t be running after someone you do not know where he/she is headed.
