Election: Cleric urges politicians  to eschew violence

Politicians seeking elective post have been urged to be decorous in their conduct before, during and after the general elections.
Pastor Aremu Abioye of the Ark of God Covenant Faith Bible Ministry, Amoyo, Kwara State in his sermon yesterday, cautioned against acts that are inimical to the progress of the nation.
He counselled them to put their trust in the only living God, reminding them that election is a contest in which there will always be winners and losers.
Similarly, Reverend James Adedoyin of ECWA Ita Elepa, Ilorin, Kwara State, admonished Nigerians to always seek and live in peace with one another towards ensuring development of the country.
In his sermon titled, “Live in peace with each other”, Reverend Adedoyin condemned the various vices including kidnappings, assassinations, ritual, political violence among others.
He advised those involved in such acts to desist, adding that God would reward all human beings accordingly.
The Cleric noted that the only panacea to peace is for people to love their neigblhbours as themselves.
However, Christians have again been charged to have strong faith in God to overcome life challenges.
A Cleric, Pastor Tunbosun Olanrewaju gave the charge yesterday in his sermon delivered at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Ilorin District Headquarters.
Pastor Olanrewaju who spoke on the topic, “Conquering faith ” called on Christians to pray fervently and read the Bible regularly to build their faith.
Also, Pastor Taiye Aransiola of the
United Evangelical Miracle Church Off Yidi Road, Ilorin in his message titled “Pray for the Nation” yesterday, called on Nigerians to always intercede for the nation to ensure the success of the forthcoming general elections.
Pastor Kayode Omotosho of the C. A . C  Anu sogo lorimi, Kilanko, Ilorin on Sunday, advised Christians to faithfully walk with God.
Pastor ldowu Constain of the New Life Holy Trinity Chapel, Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin, yesterday emphasised the need for Nigerians to always remember their leaders in prayer and do away with bad utterances.
On his part, Reverend ldowu Ibitoye of Unity Baptist Church, Fas close, off unity road, Ilorin, has charged  Christians especially women have been charged to use their gift to glorify God.
The cleric gave the charge in his sermon delivered during the women missionary focus week, on Sunday.
Reverend Ibitoye who is State CAN Secretary urged Christians to create time for their creator and serve God with all their might.
