2019: I belong to no political party – Davido

 

Ahead of 2019 general elections, singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has refuted reports of his allegiance to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Davido, who has been vocal concerning the politics in Nigeria recently, said he was not a “party man” as opposed to speculations in a section of the media.

The ‘Fall’ crooner further listed candidates he would support during the upcoming elections.

For presidential, Davido disclosed he would support Atiku Abubakar for president.

His tweeted on Sunday: “I am not a party man, I supported my Blood Uncle under (PDP) I am supporting Banky W under House of Representatives (MDP), Mr Jollof House of rep (AAC) Dapo Abiodun Governorship candidate (APC).

“Also supporting Shina Peller, Oyo for House of Representatives (APC) and Atiku Abubakar Presidential (PDP)”

Meanwhile, the popular musician has equally raised the alarm over plans to arrest Nigerian youths.

Davido on Sunday on his Twitter page said there were plans to arrest youths this week in order to prevent them from casting their votes.

He further warned Nigerians to be careful as election draws closer.

The ‘Assurance’ crooner further urged his colleagues to speak up and participate in voting and politics in the country. “Aren’t we entertainers tired of people telling us to stay out of politics because it’s dangerous? Are we still gonna be listening to them for years to come ?

“We are powerful and they know me I full found! It’s our country and it’s our business about how ‘OUR’ country is being run?

“We have the power not them !! They know this but they don’t want ‘US’ to know! All that killing , threatening and kidnapping shit because some one is speaking the truth ends now! Defend your vote.

“They are planning to start arresting youths as from next week for no reason, be careful my people, they know they are going to lose and they have a plan. Let’s stick together and let’s all be careful on these streets!”
