Authors are advocates of societal values – Nat’l Pilot Editor

Authors have been described as advocates of societal values.

The Editor of National Pilot Newspaper, Christie Doyin, stated this last Wednesday in her office during a courtesy visit by the Pen Society Forum.

According to her, writers through their creativity, correct a lot of wrong doings in the society.

“There are lots to learn by reading books, as the saying goes, readers are leaders,” she stated while also applauding the ingenuity of the group for coming together ahead of the April premiere of a book authored by one of them.

Speaking further, the Editor said, “On behalf of the MD/Editor-in-Chief of this medium, Alhaji Billy Adedamola, I want to say thank you for the visit and at the same time commend you for your efforts and mission.

“What you are doing if not that Nigerians are lazy in reading, literary work in other climes is a good business.

“We shall definitely support you. I can assure you that National Pilot will support you financially, morally and materially, especially in the area of publicity.”

The editor further acknowledged the extension of the group ethos to schools.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Pen Society Group, Jimoh Bashir appreciated the management of the medium for the warm reception accorded his team.

According to him, the ideals of the group was birthed by a product of National Pilot, Mike Adeyemi with the sole aim of having a credible launch of his latest publication titled; ‘Women are the Same’.

Bashir added that the purpose of the visit is to intimate and solicit support of the medium on the plans for the book launch slated for April.

Among the entourage is the Secretary of the group, Rowland Olonishuwa, Olabode Ahmed and Opeyemi Daniel.
