Kwara poll about Emirate, not Saraki – Magaji Nda

The Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Soliu Woru Mohamed has cautioned the people of Kwara State particularly indigenes of the Emirate to be alert to the utterances of the opposition elements in the state.
Alhaji Mohamed said this while reacting to the comment of one Sheikh Abdulraheem Aduranigba who claimed to be Imam of the Yorubas in Ilorin and its environ that Kwarans are ready to wrestle power from Saraki and Fulanis.
Aduranigba’s comments was published in Yoruba dialect by a Lagos based newspaper and circulated in Ilorin last week.
According to the Magaji Nda, the article is inciting and exposed the mission of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
“This is what we have been telling people of the emirate that the issue of the 2019 election now is not about Saraki but the emirate. How can a reasonable group say they will wrestle power from Saraki and the Fulanis in Kwara?
“That is why we are calling on the true sons and daughters of the emirate who are fallowing them sheepishly to return home.
‘There is no basis for such reckless statement in the first place because Saraki has served and continue to serve the state diligently with provision of empowerment, scholarships, poverty alleviation programmes and road construction among others.
“There are certain people in the APC who don’t want to see anything good about the emirate. There was a time somebody said they have broken the wall of unity of Ilorin Emirate. I think our people should be very careful about the coming election so that they don’t sell their birth right
There is nothing Saraki is suppose to do for the good people of the emirate, state and Nigeria that he has not done and so there is no basis to wrestle power from him.
“Those politicians confronting him now are beneficiaries of the dynasty and Kwara People are wise. The opposition will be surprise with the outcome of the result of the election because the people are solidly behind Saraki. What is the contribution of the APC candidate to Kwara and Kwarans, they are all butterfly politicians”, he added.
He appealed to security agencies to be vigilant and combs all hotels and party secretariats of political parties in the state adding that INEC should not compromise the process.
