Man allegedly murder father over farmland dispute in Kwara

A 44 -year- old motorcyclist, Sunday Abolaji has been arrested by men of the Kwara State Police Command for allegedly killing his biological father, Ajamu over farmland dispute, penultimate Saturday, Pilot Crime has learnt.
It was gathered that the incident, which occurred on the outskirt of Idofin Igbana, Kwara State threw the community into mourning.
According to a police source, the deceased was declared missing penultimate Friday after he went to inspect his farm and didn’t return home.
“He was declared missing and the community constituted a search party to look for him. Unfortunately, they found his decomposing body on the outskirt of the community.
“The left eye of the deceased had been removed, tongue cut off and left hand cut off amputated.”
“The case was reported at the police headquarters in Ilofa by a chief in Idofin Igbana community, penultimate Friday.
It was gathered that wife of the deceased, Deborah pointed accusing finger at their son, whom she said was embroiled in a land tussle with his father and had threatened to kill him.
“Working on this theory, the police arrested the suspect and the case was transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
“During the interrogation, the suspect confessed that he threatened to kill his parents over a land dispute. Investigation is still ongoing on the matter,” the source added.
In a related development, a 30- year -old wheel barrow pusher, Ibrahim Mohammed, allegedly stabbed his colleague, Ali Sodiq to death in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The suspect was said to have stabbed his colleague on the neck during a fight where they had gone to fetch water.
According to police source,” We got information at the A Division police station that a Hausa man had stabbed his colleague in the neck. But before our men got to the scene he had escaped.
“He was later arrested in Jebba and his case was transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
“During interrogation, the suspect said his colleague was fond of bullying him and he only stabbed him in self-defense.
“He confessed to have fled to Kanbi with the aim of escaping to Kebbi State before he was apprehended at Jebba by the Police.
When contacted on the matter, the State Police Spokesperson DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said is yet to be informed.
