Group goes spiritual for poll, warns against vote buying, selling

The Macedonia Ambassadors Chaplain Corps, Kwara State Command has organised a special prayer for peace to reign in Nigeria before, during and after the general elections.

The prayer session which was held at the command office, Budo Efo on Monday, according to Commanding Officer for Kwara State, Chaplain David Kehinde Agboola, was to seek the face of God in the polls.

Chaplain Agboola particularly warned Nigerians against selling their votes but to vote wisely for credible candidates of their choice to accelerate the country’s development.

He noted that vote buying and selling could not take the country to the Promised Land because the best candidates would not emerge from such practice.

The Commanding Officer advised Nigerians especially Christian faithful to vote according to their conscience in the interest of overall development of the country.

He said Chaplain is not a military outfit but worldwide organisation of priest and matured layman who have received special training to enable them hand the spiritual needs of all segments of the society, adding that peace and harmony remained the watchwords of the organisation.

Chaplain Agboola explained that the prayer session which was tagged “Save Our Nation Oh Lord”, was organized to seek God protection for every household to ensure peaceful elections.

He said praying for the peace and stability of the nation was part of the objectives of the organization, noting that with God’s intervention people fear about election would be allayed.

The prayer sessions were led Chaplain F.O. Adebisi, Chaplain Christ Ilesanmi and Chaplain Samuel Ajayi.
