Valentine’s Day (February 14) is one of the most romantic days of the year. Valentine day is a day set aside yearly to celebrate friendships, especially romantic friendships by exchanging gifts and going for dates. Many lovers look forward to this celebration. Therefore, KAYODE ADEOTI AND AMINAT BABATUNDE ask Kwarans how they plan to celebrate with their partners.
Fati Aliu, CEO, FAK Fashion Home – Romantic getaway: I will take a break from my hectic schedule to spend quality time with my husband. We will go to a special place; hotel or restaurant to celebrate the day.
My most memorable Valentine’s Day was in 2007 when my husband proposed to me. It came to me as a shock because he called me to come over to a hotel in Offa then and when I got there he popped the question.
Mansurat Amuda-Kannike (Journalist) – We’ll renew our vow: I am going to spend quality time with my husband and also renew our love. I plan to spend the best time ever with my husband as if we just got married even though our union has clocked 18 years.
Because he loves perfume, I have bought varieties for him as Valentine gift.
My most memorable valentine was in 2013 when my husband bought for me a very lovely dress.
Ahmed Ajiboye (Journalist) – Hangout with family: I will hangout with my family and we will also visit some interesting places like the Unilorin Zoo among others.
Stephen Ajagbe (Journalist) – Busy at work: Valentine’s day is meant for lovers. As a married man but living alone due to the nature of my job, I don’t think someone like me can celebrate, since my wife is not staying with me. All I will do is to go out and do my job as usual as a journalist, then retire home after the day’s work.
Fadeyi Babajide Adeolu – Renew our love: I’ll celebrate it with my wife and kids at home. It will afford my wife and I time to reflect on our relationship; where and how we started, renew our love and strengthen the relationship.
Rukayat Alawiye Basirimi – Celebrate with my children: I with celebrate the day with my children at home. It with afford us time to do things together as a family.
Afolabi Jolaoluwa aka Jabulani (Journalist) – Will be in the studio: My job is my VAL, I would be in the studio till dusk. I have got special Valentine programmes for the audience.
Romoke Ahmad – I don’t believe in Valentine’s Day: I don’t celebrate Valentine’s day. I will be in my house with my kids after work.
Lukman Kure (Civil Servant) – Spend time with my wife: Valentine’s day is fake. If you love someone, you’ll treat him or her special everyday. Not once out of 365 days. However, I will go out with my beautiful wife. Love is like playing the piano. First you must learn to play by the rules, then you forget the rules and play from your heart. Happy Valentine’s Day.
Mohammed Nurudeen (Politician) – Stay indoors with my wife: For Valentine’s day, personally I will stay at home with my wife. So, the Valentine’s Day will be all about my wife and I.

We are going to be visiting Shoprite and Bukatee. My schedule has always been hectic as a lawyer, so, devoting 14th of February to wine and dine is not too much.
The most precious Valentine gift I have ever received was in 2010 from my wife during our first romantic date at Royals, Taiwo area, Iloirin. It was a memorable day; fun-filled and pleasant.

The most precious gift I have received during Valentine’s Day is not in terms of material or good items but in kind words and sacrifices from my wife.
Ramat Oganija (Kwara PDP Woman Leader): Most memorable Valentine was when I was delivered of my first child. I will be celebrating the Valentine’s Day at home with my children. Considering my position in the party, we’ve been busy for some days because of the forthcoming elections. But, I will be home with my kids to make the day memorable. The most precious gift for me during the period was when I delivered my first child in 1983. Also, the next one came about 8 years after in 1990.
