Robbery: Kwara Police arrests 3 suspects

 

The men of Kwara State Police Command have nabbed three members of an armed robbery gang in Ilorin, penultimate Thursday.
The suspects, Raji Kemi of Alagbado, Jimoh Mustapha and Jimoh Yusuf of Oko-Olowo area were arrested for robbery attack on the household of one Mustapha Ganiyu at Olorunsogo/Odota area.
They were said to have carted away jewelries worth N135,000 and cash collected from members of the household during the operation.
Other items stolen are, a Samsung Note Edge, a Samsung J5 phone, Samsung J3 phone, a Samsung Galaxy grand prime phone, and a Techno T348 phone collected at gun point.
According to Police Source, the case was reported at Adewole ‘D’ Divisional Police Station by the victim.
The source further said that the armed robbers made an attempt to rape the victim’s daughter, Ireti, who was later stabbed on her left hand.
“Following the complaint by the victim, the police tracked the stolen mobile phones, which led to arrest of the suspects.
“The Samsung J5 phone was found with Kemi Raji, a fiancee to one of the armed robbers, Akeem Hassam at large. She claimed that the phone was given to her by a member of the robbery gang, Ahmed Olamilekan also at large.” The police source divulged.
The source stated further that the second suspect, Jimoh Mustapha was nabbed with one of the phones and during investigation, he confessed that the phone was sold to him by one Olayiwola, who is on the run at the sum of N17,000 without receipt.
“The third suspect among also them claimed that he bought Techno W5lite mobile Phone from Olayiwola,” the source added.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, said he was yet to be informed about the case.
