Football enthusiasts in Ilorin the Kwara State capital yesterday were in joyous mood at the Kwara state Stadium Complex as their darling team, kwara United beats Niger Tornadoes of Minna 2-0.
The Match which saw the Harmony Boys in a total dominance of the game throughout the first half , with lots of scoring chances unconverted by the host.
At the peak of the second half, it is apparent that the Guest came to play a draw with the Harmony Boys.
However, the host were lucky not to be behind after a loose ball from the opponent half find Tornadoes striker with United defender keeping offside and the goalkeeper was offside the line, but the striker couldn’t find the right attempt.
Coach Bala makes his first change as Tijani Adamu comes in for Okiye Ifeanyi.
This introduction no doubt turns the game around as Kwara united has a complete impressive dominant of the play.
Afeez Nasiru opens scores for kwara united at exactly 69 minutes of the encounter from a direct free kick as his efforts send the visitor’s goalkeeper the wrong way.
Shortly after, Lukman Binuyo wipes another brilliant free -kick to the bottom right corner ,and left the goalkeeper helpless.
Speaking with journalists after the match, the coach of Kwara United FC, Bala Abubakar said the game was a difficult one owing to the fact that Tornadoes came to play against him not the team.
“Being my former team, and owing to the circumstances I was outs out, I think they are to play against me.
“I know the match is going to be intense. I told my boys to come down, not to rush themselves, play your normal game, the goal will come.
He added that, he made some alterations in the Squad as against their last game in Osogbo.
“There are lots of difference from our last match in Osogbo. I told the boys that am not happy with what they plaid at Osogbo.
“We have to be consistence. By the grace of God I think we have stated back into our winning way”, he said.
