Bourdillon bullion vans and Tinubu’s uncanny affront on Lagosians – This madness must end

By Dabira Olorunfemi

When Bola Tinubu mounted rostrum  in Ilorin, Kwara state capital during All Progressives Congress, APC campaign he was vocal on how Senate President, Bukola Saraki who served as a two term governor of the state wrecked the state.
He called him a thief and traitor. He appealed to Kwarans to put an end to his reign.
But Tinubu is worse and irredeemably corrupt. Infact , in the school of looting, Saraki is an apprentice while Tinubu is in the league of veterans who rob  people in daylight and flaunt the spoil before their victim’s.
The news broke on Friday, the eve of February 23 election that bullion vans were seen negotiating into the residence of Tinubu on Bourdillon road in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The immediate suspicion was that the ballot papers ware housed with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN were the contents of the vans.
But alas, it was money. Many doubted if Tinubu could brazenly move huge money in bullion vans in broad day. But the Jagaban himself , the landlord of Lagos as he would like to be called ended the speculations and admitted ownership of the money in the bullion vans.
He said the money belonged to him and  not public funds. Tinubu shamelessly accused whistleblowers and those who filmed bullion vans entering his residence as mischief makers.
These were his words, ” “I don’t work for the government, I am not in an agency of the government, and let anybody come out to say I have taken any contract from the government of President Buhari and the APC in the last five years.
“If I don’t represent any agency of government and I have money to spend if I like I give it to the people for free of charge as long as it is not to buy votes”.
The question to ask Tinubu is this – where did he get the money and what business did he do prior to 1999 before he became governor of Lagos. Tinubu who did not have a satchet water production factory before the 1999 today has two private jets, hundreds of houses, porsh cars, companies and now move ‘his’ money in bullion vans like banks.
I don’t think Muhammadu Buhari administration needs further proof to nail this rogue if indeed the government is serious about fight against corruption. Tinubu’s brazen display of stolen money of the people is absurd and highly immoral.
The man has become a huge burden and toxic liability to a government whose mantra is to stamp out graft.
When Tinubu and his ignorant fans chorus their popular refrain, ” 16 years of PDP rot”. Nigerians should ignore them becuase Tinubu is vicious than any PDP super thief. At least, no PDP chieftain publicly justified broad day looting as Tinubu did last Saturday.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC should investigate the source of the money stuffed in the bullion vans that berth inside Tinubu’s Bourdillon residence. Only a naive won’t know that theme fuuds are proceeds of corruption.
Tinubu’s assault on our collective sensibilities has become unbearable. Lagosians must arise and take a bipartisan position to end the Tinubu scourge.
Tinubu asking what is our headache over bullion vans carting our money into his bedroom is  tantamount of calling Lagosians bastard. Tinubu has dared us to do our worse.
The stolen funds he depends on and uses to compromise every democratic and other institutions in the society can fail him if Lagoisians unite across religious, social and political lines to end his reign of terror.
We have a golden opportunity on 9th , March, 2019 to tell Tinubu that, O’toge (Enough is Enough) in Lagos. This madness must definitely end!
