ITC Club President, Audu set out blueprints on sport development
The new President of International Tobacco Company (ITC) Club House, Ilorin, Engr. Audu Saliu Onimisi has identified and adopted a three-point agenda towards taking the club to a greater height.
Engr. Audu defeated Mr. Yinka Omozuwa on Saturday, to emerge as the 9th President of the Club.
In a chat with newsmen, Engr. Audu said that his administration will embark on infrastructural development, development of sporting facilities and accountability as the three areas he will concentrate on, towards uplifting the status of the club.’I have worked out a blueprint of social-economic agenda for ITC Club, which presents a picture of where we are coming from, where we want to be and how we want to get there.
‘The blueprint has identified the core strategic sectors, all built into our ‘New Dawn Agenda’ model’ he said.
The development of sporting facilities, according to him, will include the repairs of the tennis court, repairs of the outdoor badminton court, upgrading of the existing badminton court, introduction and encouragement of more sports like chess, ayo and draught, construction of a gym as well as the encouragement of weekly aerobics.
He also promised to run a zero tolerance to the misappropriation of Club funds.
Engr. Audu, currently the Head, Lubcon Limited Engineering Department had served in various capacities at the Club, which includes General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Public Relations Officer and Social Secretary.
He joined ITC Club in 1999.
The new officers, who will be inaugurated today at the Club will spend two years in office.
