Twelve teams are set to battle for the N3m cash prize on offer at the inaugural MGI Scrabble Premier League scheduled to hold across the country from March to September.
The MGI Scrabble Premier League is the first to be orgnised in Nigeria where teams made of up seven players each will face off.
Organisers, Mindgames Incorporated, the brains behind the Mindgames Premier Championship, say the MSPL 2019 is designed to raise professional standard of scrabble to an international level.
Air Poppers, Olowoyeye Predators, Brainaics, Phoenix, The Bulldozers, Hurricanes, Lekki Bombers, Blazers, FRSC Roadies, Team Supreme, Tekana Drones and Gracious Pickers would be up against one another across four weekends where a total of 55 games would be played in a round-robin format.
The Golfview Hotel and Suites Ikeja, Lagos will host Matchday 1 on Saturday (today), while Stonehenge Hotel in Abuja hosts the scrabble community on Matchday 2 on May 18.
Shell Club in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is the venue for Matchday 3 on July 13.
Lagos will again, be the focus as teams will converge on the Lilygate Hotel, Lekki for Matchday 4 and 5 proceedings, where the winner of the star prize of N1m would emerge.
