Etsu Patigi was a selfless leader – LP, Prof Oba

The former Chairman of Federal Character Commission and Talba of Ilorin, Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, has described the late Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar, as a visionary and selfless traditional ruler whose reign has brought significant development to humanity at large.
The varsity don in his condolence message issued in Ilorin, expressed sadness over the death, stressing that the late Etsu Patigi was one of the highly respected monarchs with unique and exceptional leadership qualities.
Prof Oba Abdulraheem further noted that, ” His Royal Highness, Alhaji Chatta Umar was a complete gentleman whose commitment to nation-building process is unquantifiable across all divides. His permanent departure has, no doubt, created a big vacuum which only Allah may help to fill.
Similarly, the State Chapter of Labour Party has commiserated with the Government and People of Kwara State over the death of the Etsu Patigi, Umar Chatta Ibrahim.
The party in a telephone chat by the state Chairman, Comrade AbdulMumini AbdulKareem Onagun said “We commiserate with the state government and the people of Kwara State on the demise of the late Emir especially the people of Patigi and the Kwara State traditional council led by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
“We pray Allah grant him paradise. The role he has played for the betterment of his people and that of Kwara State is remarkable and we want to call on all and sundry to put in their best in all ramifications to serve the state”.
