By Ahmed Ajikobi

The Imam Albaraka Mosque, Sawmill, Ilorin, Kwara State, Ustaz Waheed Olarewaju has advised Muslims to shun evil deeds as death could come calling at anytime.

Olarewaju, who gave the advice in his jumaat service sermon, said Muslims should live their lives as if they are going to die tomorrow, charging them to engage in good deeds always.

Quoting Prophet Muhammed he said,” Live in this world like a stranger. When a visitor enters a state or community, he or she will be focused on where he or she is heading .

“Muslims should focus on good deeds as if they are going to die anytime, with that  they will have their mind on Allah’s instructions and avoid being distracted by the devil in order to gain Allah’s rewards.”

He added that Prophet Muhammed had charged believers to prepare themselves for the hereafter by doing good deeds in life as no one knows when he/she would leave this world.

“The Prophet has warned us not do chase after worldly things and power inordinately  beyond ourselves in looking for worldly wealth to avoid facing the wrath of Allah. It is quite unfortunate that some people  destroyed their lives, kill others because they want better life.

” The prophet has advised us to be careful in the way we deal with others irrespective of our positions. Fear Allah privately and publicly, when you are strong and  when you are weak, what you utter with your mouth,” he further said.
