Customer, Sterling Bank staff bicker over  ceased ATM card

A bank customer and  a staff of Sterling Bank, Post Office branch on Wednesday,  had a shouting match over the former’s Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) card that was withheld by the machine.

It was gathered that the customer was carrying out transaction when suddenly his ATM got  stuck in the machine.

While the customer was waiting, he discovered that the machine was blocked from  inside by the  staff while  loading it with cash. He then went into the banking hall to make formal complaint and to his surprise, he was told that he would have to go to his bank  for the issue to be addressed.

The customer became furious insisting that the issue was caused by their staff and not due to faulty  machine. He insisted on collecting his card before leaving the bank. Other customers also joined in the protest asking the bank to address the issue immediately. This prompted a top official of the bank to invite the aggrieved customer to his office and ensured that his card was given back to him.
